$2200 and i saved all my emails.

Incase you didn't know Mr. Nguyen,i get fucking sick when people rip me
off - you should talk to the guy at one of the local salvage yards around
here.. or maybe the dude who threw an egg at my car one time.. man, i
don't want to go to court anymore. And I wouldn't mind taking a trip down
to Cali to check out the import sceen this holiday season. an airline
ticket is just a drop in the bucket for me son.

i think the best way for you is to still go through court. wasting the time and money to beat the crap out of him wont help. if he wanted to scam you, he probably didnt use his real name. so going through the police to figure out who cashed the check might be a better approach. i am sure that you will get it resolved with the court system.

i had almost the exact same thing happen to me.
i bought a sohc greddy kit used, all i got was manifold, turbo, and the chage pipes.
no down pipe( which i was the maddest about )
and no fmu. what a fuck nut!
